A bit about myself and why I became vegan
Hi my name is Symone! I am Westerner with Polish, Portuguese and Italian heritage but was born and raised in Hong Kong. I enjoy dancing, traveling the world and adore animals. My more recent journey towards veganism has been exciting and very educational to say the least. I’d be happy to be your guide and take you to places in Hong Kong to share with you my vegan HK.
I became a vegan in Aug 2018 really because it was my last option a as means of clearing my acne prone skin. I had tried everything else and although I had heard about going vegan and how it had worked for others, I found it difficult to give up some of my favorite foods. One night my husband and I were watching the documentary “What The Health” (while eating a meat based dinner) and when we finished watching it he turned to me and said that was it and he wouldn’t be able to eat meat again. I was honestly very surprise by his answer but of course wanted to support his decision so I said I would do it with him and we have never turned back. I really have to thank him for giving me the push I needed as I know it would have been impossible to live in a house where only one of us was vegan. On a side note, my skin is so much better and my only regret is not turning vegan much earlier in my life.
One tour will cover the Central, Sheung Wan and midlevels area of Hong Kong island. This is where you will find many vegan restaurants and places to source vegan foods. Partly due to the fact that this is where many Western people either work or reside in HK. It is also one of the most sought out destinations when sightseeing in HK. The tour will cover a few restaurant locations, supermarket, outdoor markets and even my personal favorite breakfast/desert venue. Along the way we will also encounter some must see tourist attractions like the Western Market in Sheung Wan, the district of Soho and even the longest escalator system in the world!

We will cover the Kowloon peninsula and the area known as Tsim Sha Tsui. Here, once again, we will walk to some of my favourite vegan restaurants. Take a walk to the newest upscale shopping mall in Hong Kong that offers a great view of the Hong Kong harbour where we will visit a delicious vegan ice cream shop. Along our walk you will also get to see places such as Kowloon park (an oasis in the middle of the city) and even the largest shopping mall known as Harbour City which is also home to a vegan supermarket/ restaurant chain found throughout HK.
