Dishes that are traditionally served vegan

Soaked bread with garlic and olive oil. Make sure: no meat is added

Migas

Mashed black-eyed peas cornbread made with garlic, cabbage and olive oil

Migas de feijão frade

Deep-fried corn flour made with garlic, cabbage/kale/other greens. Make sure: lard is not used

Milho Frito

Garlic bread made with olive oil and salt, served as a side dish. Make sure: no fish/ cheese is served

Torricado

Firm quince jam made with vanilla, lemon and sugar

Marmelada

Common sweet made from almonds, sugar and water

Marzipan

Cold soup made from tomatoes, green capsicum, parsley onion and garlic. Make sure: cheese is not added on top

Gazpacho

Carrot soup made with carrots, pumpkin, sweet potato, onion, ginger

Sopa de Cenoura

Kidney-bean soup with potatoes, pumpkin, turnip, carrots, and leeks. Make sure: cheese is not added on top

Sopa de Feijao

Cooked lupines, commonly served as a snack

Kale soup with potatoes, chicken broth and sausage. To Veganize: Make sure no chicken broth or sausage is added
